Habilitation Technician


A habilitation technician is an individual that cares for a child, or an
adult with developmental orphysical disabilities. They work with the
client in their home or in the community. A habilitation technician
implements individualized goal plans. This requires observation and
both verbal and written feedback to the appropriate professional on
the client's progress and overall condition. The focus is on developing
self help, social, cognitive and adaptive behavior and community
living skills. If you are interested in becoming a habilitation technician
and working one-on-one with a client, Medicaid dictates that you meet
the following requirements:

You also must have or be willing to get Adult CPR/Standard First Aid
certification, a TB test, NCI (Part A) certification and Core
Competency certification.
